Mal: Yeah, well, just be careful. We cheated Badger out of good money to buy that frippery, and you're supposed to make me look respectable. Kaylee: Yes, sir, Captain Tightpants.

A dress should be tight enough to show you're a woman but loose enough to flee from zombies. — Ginger

Erin, how did the meeting with HR go? Smoothly I hope?

Me, Erin? I can't remember which HR. The phone call for the Shmoop consult job went great.

The meeting with the school HR awhile ago was impersonal; basically, they just told me I'd gone two days over my PTO and would get those days deducted from my pay. Nothing else. They couldn't have cared less about anything else.

Whatevs, I'm fine with it. I can't see that I'll take any days off between now and then end of summer, unless I break a leg or have some serious illness and if that happens, they can fuck themselves. I'll work till the end of summer, do my best for my students -- after these novels and research papers are done this week and piles of papers graded over SB, I'm focusing on fun, easy to grade creative writing and reading, my seniors will have only two and a half weeks left anyway -- and then I can focus on freelancing.

Woo motherfucking hoo! I made two good contacts last night actually, at the show, so I am feeling more and more confident and excited about the freelancing thing. Things are percolating and bubbling and solidifying and it's great!

We are Buffistas. This isn't our first apocalypse. -- Pix

The TV show with the strongest online fandom is no real surprise.

What surprises me is how highly Castle ranks. I mean, I really enjoy the show, and I've read a bit of fic for it (like Shrift's), but it doesn't take up a lot of electrons in my online haunts.

Where are all these frenzied Castle fans? Where are they generating all this fanfiction and whatnot?

This morning, I went running, and then climbing, and then had a big brunch, and walked for at least two miles all over the Marina. I'm exhausted. I really just want to go to bed, but I have all sorts of tv built up on my Tivo...

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

I am always suspicious of fanfic/fandom surveys anyway.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I know they're very active on TWOP. Nathan Fillion is ridiculously popular, and he has a lot of Browncoats watching the show. And we know what that means. His twitter is very popular.

I am always suspicious of fanfic/fandom surveys anyway.

They didn't ask me, so how valid can it be?

Yeah, me too. They always end up unbalanced by someone drumming up interest in "their" corner of fandom. There really isn't a way to get a true full-spectrum look at fandom, because it's in so many places, many of them password-protected.

And Supernatural fandom, as evidenced by its extreme poll-winningness lately, is totally down with that shit.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I'm kind of surprised Glee didn't rank higher, but what do I know about fandom?

School HR. Glad it went well. Also, glad you're feeling confident about the freelancing!

"I keep to a strict diet of ill-advised enthusiasm and heartfelt regret." Leigh Bardugo

Glee is too mainstream and not SciFi enough. Their fandom is not the internet insane-o fandom?

It's the pay money to see them in concert if you can get your mom to drive you fandom?

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I follow at least one serious Glee fan on tumblr, and there seem to be bunch of those, anyway.
