I don't know. But I don't think there's actually a clinical definition of "nervous breakdown".

There isn't.

Ugh Allyson, is there a way you can open space in your day to take care of yourself? Whatever that would look like, go home from work early, reach out to someone.

Burrell is wise.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

Allyson, I agree with Jilli, given all you've said. If you are worried, that is reason enough to talk with someone.

Nana korobi, ya oki. (Fall down seven times, stand up eight.) ~Yuzuru Hanyu/Japanese proverb

I'm increasingly living in my head, and unable to deal with the world.

Definitely seek professional help. Especially if you find yourself "losing" time: e.g. not being aware of time passing and suddenly finding that you're in a different location than you last remember being and totally unaware of how you got there.

Always Anti-fascist!

I think everyone could probably go to counseling and find things to talk about.

Folks will come in saying there is nothing to talk about, but within about 5 minutes something pops up. There is always something. The fallacy is that it always has to be sad, or bad, or hard to do any good.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Talking to a professional is awesome.

In shallow news, if there's anyone who is committed to the Cowgirl Jesse thing AND has money to literally throw away, they could buy me these: [link]

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

Therapy saved my life, but more than that, the stuff I learned continues to reverberate and help me each day. My only advice is to keep trying therapists until you find one you click with.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Yeah, Allyson, you should probably seek professional help. Sorry things are difficult.

ION, apparently Indiana wants me, even though I was just thinking, "Lord, I can't go back there."

Is Southern Indiana and Illinois considered "the South"? Because I've never really thought so, but folks still have the Southern accent here.

Still tired, but still in a good mood. This morning as I was walking to my car at the motel, I said, "Good morning" to a big old guy loading up his Harley. He looked at me dubiously for a few seconds before saying, "How's it going?" Being cheerful is weird.

Also, I discovered I have hickeys. And my right shoulder is sore for some reason. My upper left leg is really sore, but at least I know why (and I ain't sayin').

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

tommy,

as someone who lived around/near that region of the country and fucking hated it, I think it is southern in sensibilities while geographically still being midwest.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Jesus, Jesse, I don't like you that much. As if.

I have calls out to two doctors about meds. Let's see if either of them do anything. And one pharmacy calling another doctor about meds. I expect no traction on that either. Good thing I have a lot of work to do.
