Natter 68: Bork Bork Bork
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
Bizarre.
Jesse, that's horrid!
I'm having a productive day despite having been Lokinapped. He's just so warm all sprawled across you. Market, where I got a maple bacon biscuit. They're so rich, they have to be bad for you, but NOM! Shopped (only forgot one thing) and swam. After a soso first mile, I kicked complete ass in the second. My average lap was 54.5. In the
second
mile. I just want to work out how to get into the groove better in the first.
Launderating and gonna do some pickling. AND my neighbor's um, guest, is gonna come over in a bit to see if he thinks he can fix my ceiling! Even if he thinks he can't (he redid her kitchen, don't see why not, but it was him and another guy) I might have him deal with the porch posts.
It's chilly here. I think it might be time to call the home warranty people to send out a guy to do a service check and bleed&drain of my heat. I might not need it for a month, but when I need it....
Oh, I was going to pull one of the acs. Hrm. Maybe not tonight.
OH, and with all the crime drama of late, I shared my number with a few folks on the listserv, and one called tonight to thank me and give me her number. Turns out she works at Homewood as well! Hope to meet her soon.
The dojo kids just went home. Had them from 8:30 until about 4pm. Mom hung out for a bit when she got here, taking the chance to relax while both kids were asleep. Those kids are so much fun. Happy kids and at great ages.
CJ has a rescue call for tomorrow morning. There is a 72 year old guy who has been missing since Friday. Search and rescue were out today, but it sounds like they haven't found him yet.
maple bacon biscuit
Those sound amazing. I WANT.
Also, yikes.... Suzi, I am continually amazed at your bravery.
In a bizarre story, a man and his car went over into a ravine next to the Angeles Highway. He was missing for days (5 or 7?) so his kids did a search and found him. He was next to another car with man who had been missing (and dead) for 10 days. How bizarre that the two cars, which weren't in an accident together, were in the same spot. [link] Article about it. Both men are over 65 and that stretch of road is all curves and inclines. Scary.
I think beth b knows one of those people, but I don't know which one.
Eek. Because of Perkins' gmail experience I checked my own account--disabled! I submitted a report, on my single gmail account, since I'd never logged out, and it was still active enough to submit the report. I never got an email at my other account indicating gmail had gotten my email, but I tried logging in a few minutes later, and ba-bing, I'm up again.
Oh. And in the time it took to type this, I just got an email from gmail acknowledging my complaint and suggesting steps to take.
Um. Guess I need to do some backup, huh?
Wow. Gmail must be hiccuping.
Meanwhile, I've had HRTV on all day (lots of good races today!) and there's a race with a horse in it named Farmer Giles.
But they pronounce it with a hard rather than a sot g.
Woohoo! He can totally do it. Gonna run the numbers for me & get back to me. And my neighbor's daughter came along and as is usual, fell for Mister Kitty.
I actually feel pretty good about what I've gotten done today, despite the hours of freaking out. Library, post office, laundry, nails, and have an appointment to see what's sure to be a crappy apartment on Monday. There are two reasonable neighborhoods I think I can get into, so I have a little bit of focus, which is good.
Although I could live on the beach in a three-bedroom for less than I'm paying now, and that's pretty tempting, except for the commute.
Okay, Fall TV report.
I have watched the following new tv series:
"A Gifted Man", "Prime Suspect", "Revenge", "Homeland", and "Pan Am."
"Homeland" and "Revenge" are my favorites and shows I will continue to watch. I have dropped AGM and PS after the 2nd ep. I don't know yet what I'm going to do about "Pan Am."
