Natter 68: Bork Bork Bork
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
Eek. Because of Perkins' gmail experience I checked my own account--disabled! I submitted a report, on my single gmail account, since I'd never logged out, and it was still active enough to submit the report. I never got an email at my other account indicating gmail had gotten my email, but I tried logging in a few minutes later, and ba-bing, I'm up again.
Oh. And in the time it took to type this, I just got an email from gmail acknowledging my complaint and suggesting steps to take.
Um. Guess I need to do some backup, huh?
Wow. Gmail must be hiccuping.
Meanwhile, I've had HRTV on all day (lots of good races today!) and there's a race with a horse in it named Farmer Giles.
But they pronounce it with a hard rather than a sot g.
Woohoo! He can totally do it. Gonna run the numbers for me & get back to me. And my neighbor's daughter came along and as is usual, fell for Mister Kitty.
I actually feel pretty good about what I've gotten done today, despite the hours of freaking out. Library, post office, laundry, nails, and have an appointment to see what's sure to be a crappy apartment on Monday. There are two reasonable neighborhoods I think I can get into, so I have a little bit of focus, which is good.
Although I could live on the beach in a three-bedroom for less than I'm paying now, and that's pretty tempting, except for the commute.
Okay, Fall TV report.
I have watched the following new tv series:
"A Gifted Man", "Prime Suspect", "Revenge", "Homeland", and "Pan Am."
"Homeland" and "Revenge" are my favorites and shows I will continue to watch. I have dropped AGM and PS after the 2nd ep. I don't know yet what I'm going to do about "Pan Am."
I had never heard of Homeland until I saw it mentioned the other day.
The only new show I'm really excited to watch is American Horror. Which could either be Twin Peaks with even more sex and blood, or a total train wreck.
I keep meaning to watch Revenge, but seriously, my DVR was full by the time I got home Friday, so I can't add something else! And have issues giving stuff up.

This totally recommends it. But not enough to overcome my inertia.
I love that the Revenge people get the campiness. There was an article that Linda Holmes did about Charlie's Angels that mentioned that the Revenge people were giggling at the idea of EVK ending each episode shaking her fists at the sky.
To the tone deaf lead "singer" bellowing off-key at the top of his lungs 40 feet from my living room, I say: Whoever led you to believe that you have any talent as a musician LIED. I can only assume you're the sole person the guitarists and drummer know who has sufficient couch space for them to crash upon.
Jesse, I'm wishing you something really great, and quickly.
H has been under the weather (gout. not fun) so we've both been pretty low-key. He did a grocery run this morning, and put in a load of laundry. I transferred it from W to D, then folded and put them all away. Cleared the drainer and put clean dishes away, washed the dirty ones and left them to dry, scalded and filled water bottles, filled the filter pitcher, made the bed, wiped down the bathroom, wrote the neighborhood dues check for the month and balanced the checkbook, wrestled briefly with gmail, uploaded some pictures to LJ and DW, emptied the drainer again and put clean dishes away.
Need to post to flickr, crop and enhance a couple and post to Tumblr. And think about supper.
