Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

And Jesse, I'm sorry about the apartment situation. All speedy perfect-place-finding-ma to you.

Because books.

Yay, Frank!

I spent the last half hour on PetFinder and it's all Perkins's fault.

Our wings are not tired.

Jesse, Steve had to move recently too (they wanted him to sign another year lease and he was frustrated with them not fixing stuff, etc. And while his location was awesome, and the exterior of the brownstone beautiful, I hated the inside of his apartment.). He ended up renting a much better place for less money out in Jamaica Plain.

Moving is such a fantastic pain even in the best of circumstances that I'm furious on your behalf that you're being given almost no notice.

"I keep to a strict diet of ill-advised enthusiasm and heartfelt regret." Leigh Bardugo

Oh Jesse, that absolutely is the shit. I am very sorry.

Thank you for the gifties. Made my day.

msbelle, I am so glad it got there. I have had the box sitting in the house since July (minus the sticker). Then I had it in the car for longer than 3 weeks. When I finally went to the post office, I ran into my friend Judy who knows the entire town where the post office is located. So funny.

Took Grace and Noah for a long walk this morning in preparation for the half marathon. When I have Noah in the pack on my back? I am so much slower. DAMN it was work. Then I think I made him late for soccer.

I'm staying home and grading.

I want to tell my parents that if they get xmas gift for the kids to get us Signing Time videos because let's be clear, that's what we really need. Is that tacky?

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

He ended up renting a much better place for less money out in Jamaica Plain.

Yeah, people love it there. But I'd need a car to get to work, and I'm just not ready for that.

I want to tell my parents that if they get xmas gift for the kids to get us Signing Time videos because let's be clear, that's what we really need. Is that tacky?

I would say no, but it depends on your family how it would go over.

Because books.

We used to tell my parents' specific things the kids needed when it was time for birthdays or Christmas, and they were always happy to get something they knew we wanted. You could always make it more of a suggestion, though: "Wow, Grace and Noah would LOVE those!"

hip deep in pie

My family can be pretty direct about gifts. I have sent home specific lists with brands and sizes before. But it's usually after I've been asked what I want.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

Ugh Jesse, that sucks. I am feeling for you.

Is that tacky?

Not in my book. They are always welcome to give something else too, right? But don't most people prefer giving something they know is wanted?

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

Jesse, that sucks! I hope they give you another month and good luck finding a place. I think when my last apartment went condo they gave us a month and a half and if we had to stay after that it was going to be $500 more per month than what I was already paying.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

I always give my parents wish lists for the kids, it's just easier that way.
