We're very stretchy. - Connie Neil

Google's logo today also celebrates Gagarin's flight.

I'm still out here at Mom's (will be until Thursday morning), and fell asleep on the couch watching tv last night. Mom came out at her usual too-damn-early-o'clock this morning (6:15!) and woke me up walking to the kitchen for her coffee, so I only ended up with about 3 1/2 hours sleep. Ugh. I wish I was her dog, and could get away with snoozing all day long.

Speaking of, we're taking her to the vet for her rabies shot and checkup this afternoon, and then tomorrow, Mom is heading in for her first follow-up appointment with her foot surgeon.

Mom wants me to do some gardening work this afternoon (if it's not raining), and then I'll be cleaning her house between today and tomorrow so it'll be immaculate before I leave. She's already spoken with my niece and will be paying her some cash to come over and clean until she's back on both feet. Her neighbors are helping with the rest of the stuff (groceries, garbage, errands, etc.) after I leave.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I think the sleep conversation last night cursed me

I shouldn't have brought it up. I got comically little sleep last night. My face is puffed up so much I'm having difficulty seeing, and my head...let's not speak of the headache.

Work will only happen from home.

Punishingly Intricate

That's great your mom has a good support system, Kathy!

Gud, I'm so sorry. And, Sparky, my heart is aching for you guys.

...

Our event last night didn't have a big crowd but we still made several hundred dollars and it was really fun! The artists seemed to really enjoy our poses and costumes...and snacks. I'll tell you what, though, staying completely still for 20 minutes is HARD!

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

(((Gud)))

(((Sparky)))

I am trying to do some job work today. I should have done this on Friday, then the weekend, then yesterday. Instead I did yard work, which I loved doing, but isn't helping me get a paycheck.

Other things that need doing today: taxes, wash the dishes overflowing the sinks, call a mom to change a playdate.

This is onerous task week for me. The 14th will be nothing special. The bookshelf was already huge. I've been dancing around that for over a year.

I need to figure out lighting in my living room. I want general lights, plus something specific over my shoulder for art. I tried switching with the two-headed reading lamp from my bedroom, but it's crap at lighting the room.

Ann, that's a ferret.

((((Gud and family))))

Mouse over the logo. Neat effect.

I'm sorry you're getting such bad news, Gud.

"This bar smells like kerosene and stripper tears."

I am not doing an onerous task this week (unless it's one that I have to do for my job). The closer I get to Friday, the more I feel like bouncing off the walls.

(((Sparky))) I hope your puppy comes home soon!

I usually listen to shows while I work on more tedious tasks at work. Right now I am listening to Pie-lette on WB.com, but with Pushing Daisies, it's pretty hard to not want to watch it because the visuals are so stunning.

I am sorry Gud. We are still up in the air as far as what's happening with us. It's better news than it was, but still unstable.
