It sucks ass, ita.

Took Taylor out to dinner and we talked college, owning a home, parents, what we've been up to. Came back here and her guy friend (don't know if it is romantic or not, but she is spending the night there, and given dad is ok with that, thinking not) joined us. He's also a Y junkie, so had come to work out while we did dinner & then meet up with her. He came in 'just for a minute' and then me and the two 16 year olds spent a couple of hilarious hours talking. He didn't want to leave when his mom called to ask him to stop and grab her some dinner on the way home, which was now please.

I think Taylor is doing her level best to make me like teens. Every one of the friends she's brought by have impressed me with their sweetness and maturity, and the fact they genuinely seem to like hanging out with a thirtysomething and they are fun to hang out with. There is so much curiosity and sillines. I appreciate a 16 year old boy who can tell a hilarious story of having his bell rung by a teeny tiny woman in his MMA training and how it made him realize that maybe he wanted to rethink this, because he'd never had a partner go all out before and you know what he didn't like it at all!

My cats are plumb-wore out. They got lots and lots of attention. Even Devi, which is so weird. Taylor, I understand. Tall boisterous guy, I do not.

Good goddamn. Diana Nyad is attempting to swim from Cuba to Florida about a month after an asthma attack aborted her previous attempt. She's 62. I'd missed that she was giving it another go. But I get it.

She got hit with a Portuguese man o'war this morning, but is still going. It's 103 fucking miles. I do that in 2 months , and have never done more than 2.5 miles in a go.

Because books.

Aren't those poisonous? Like, dangerously so?

I went out and met strangers from the internets! Writing strangers from the tweety, in fact -- a loosely Philly-centric writing group, which is less about talking shop and more about drinking, but I'm good with that. And two other members live right here in West Chester, too, which is awesome!

Then I came home and S. and Sara had made really deliciously chocolatey chocolate chip cookie bars, so it's a been a very nice evening.

Yep. Got a steroid shot and some o2, changed suits and put on a shirt and kept fucking going.

That sounds awesome, Amy! Particularly the chocolate chip cookie bar ending. Well, maybe not particularly, but right now, I would love that so much. I'm contemplating seeing whether I have the ingredients to make brownies.

Because books.

Sara dumped ALL the chips in, so they are Very Chocolatey.

A girl after my own heart, that one.

She is so cute. When I came home, she had just gotten out of the shower, and she was very excited to tell me she had put the water on All By Herself, and adjusted the temp, and washed her own hair, and then turned it off and got out All By Herself, too. (And she was actually clean, and shampoo free!)

I got a little melty, although I'm sure the two beers helped.

Way to go, Sara! I am impressed, because I remember my first attempt at my own shower, and it did not go well. There may have been tears. In my defense, it was a weird shower that had side spigots and the top shower head, and it was complicated, and there was water coming from every direction, and I was short, and, and... yes, it traumatized me.

Ahem, sorry. Let's get back to, yay, Sara!
