I am back from four days in the wilderness with 53 teenaged girls.
Did it most resemble the camping episode of

Damn you all for turning me on to these sea salt and chocolate almonds from TJ's, they're delicious!

Glad to hear the boss OK'd working-from-home ita !
Hi everyone! I am back from four days in the wilderness with 53 teenaged girls. I just took the most wonderful shower. Ahhhhhh.
4 days? 53 girls? Um yay shower! When do you get to move on to vodka cocktails?
I bought some of the almonds yesterday--it was the first time I'd seen them in the store--and now I think I've eaten half the box. OM NOM NOM. (OK, I'd actually like them with a little less chocolate and a little more almond, but whatev')
I have a bunch more work to do (I did about 1/3 of it) but even the stuff that has to be done by Sunday (since I leave then) I am all "well, maybe I'll just deal with it Sunday morning"...ah, Friday afternoon...

I'm kind of interested in whatever adventure led them to end up in a mental ward.
Maria, very good news. My offer of a place to crash stands.
Please send a canoe. We're in for another soaker of a weekend.
Being in a meeting all day about melted my brain. It was all presentations to the user group, so nothing new to me, but I needed to be there to field any questions. Of which there were none.
Huh, I got the pit first try. That was unexpected. I suspect it comes from living in LA, there's a lot of pit and pit/mix around here.
Oh god, I stink of stressed out flop sweat.
It's been such a shitty week.
The car started to have transmission problems. We went to the Credit Union and they gave us a loan to get a new starter clutch.
Yay! Money to fix the problem.
Took it to the garage and the mechanic says, "Uh...looks like the whole transmission is going. Also the IMA battery." (IMA = Hybrid battery)
We decide not to invest in a new transmission ($3,300) and IMA battery ($3,000) at this time. That's more than we paid for it. I thought we were buying smart by investing in Honda!
Mechanic said it's drivable with new starter clutch.
Guess what? Not. Drivable. Transmission gives out on first hill going home. Paid $1,600 (that we now owe) to make the car
less
functional.
Also, EM had occurrence of lice and we had to scour the house and inspect/kill-shampoo all heads.
Also, the knob came off my stove and I can't turn on the oven.
However, I did sell off a bag of my CDs (at penny on the pound) to get Emmett the fruit tart he requested for his birthday.
Don't know what to do about the car right now. Too stinky and tired from hauling ass all over the city with immovable automobile to think.
OTOH, no cancer in sight.
::knock wood::
I keep thinking about the guy I heard on NPR once who said, "If your problems don't include the words "indicted" or "inoperable" they're not as bad as you think."
Which is true. But it's been a shitty week.
Okay, minor reorg in the department that will probably not change my life at all, and I'M OUTTIE for the weekend.
Time to start doing timekilling things to get me to Show time.
Damn, Hec. That is pretty damn shitty, FPC.
