Met some MORE prospective neighbors tonight and got the skinny on the house: it's a HUD auction, opening to bids tonight! I've talked to probably 5 or 6 different youngish couples since Saturday, and those are just the ones I meet on my way back from the pool or shopping. I have a good feeling about this.

Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
That starting bid is less than the downpayment for my place. I hope it goes to a great young couple, Sara, who can make it their home for years to come.
Everybody needs a letter like that. To show to jerks, and to ourselves when necessary.
YES, YES WE DO.
t having a bad day, can't close that tag
For the record, Allyson is awesome. I often lament that I can's magically appear where she is and take her out for coffee.
I seriously doubt it will go for that little, given the interest it's seen. Even if it were a shell, that's way too low for this particular neighborhood. I've made a point of telling everyone that the house next door will come on the market after being rehabbed by St. Ambrose. Just so that a) they know it won't stay vacant and b) give them another shot later if they are interested.
Hell, I contacted St. Ambrose and let them know that if any prospective buyers wanted to hear about the neighborhood, I'd be happy to talk to them (and gave them a brief rundown of why I'm in love with it.) Head of development wrote me back and told me if I found came across anyone interested, to point them their way and name me as the referrer.
My realtor is teasing me that I've become a pro-bono realtor. Hell yeah, if it fills up the empties with great people!

Whenever I'm having a day, I think I need to take a couple of days, fly into seattle, get a decent hotel room, and go play dress-up and clubbing with Jilli.
4 SRS. I do.
Our neighborhood has so many empties, but I don't do that! I mean, technically, I try to recruit everyone who ever visits me, but they don't take me seriously. Plus, my one remaining neighbor I hadn't met stopped me on the road the other day to tell me to watch out on my walk because there was a snake in the road. (There was. It was huge.) And we stood there and talked for a half an hour, in the middle of the road. Anyway, the point was, he told me that the owner of the majority of the surrounding properties is a crook. Hee. So maybe I shouldn't be suckering people into having to deal with him.

Heh. My sisters house in Indiana cost less thanmy downpayment. But she has to live in Indiana.

Oh, that would be so wonderful. I have such cute things to dress you up in! The StuntHusband and I have a new swanky club to go to, even. (There has been club and dj DRAMA for the past two years, good lord. But now we have a steady place, and it is fantastic.)
My neighbors only believe I'm an introvert when I explain that I need hours to recharge after an evening, which is why I decline events that start at midnight. And even then, I'm not sure they quite believe me. I like who I've grown into in the past couple of years. Even if I am That Neighbor, the one who doesn't hesitate to go chasing down the utility trucks at 11 at night or stop the patrol cop to chat them up and get any scoops to be had.

Events start at midnight?!
I remember those days, though. At, like, 10:45 someone would say, let's go to X bar and play pool and drink cheap pitchers! And it would be way uptown and 11:30 before we got there, and it would seem like nothing.
Now I'm usually in my jammies by, like, 7:30.
