Timelies all!!
I'm sitting here at secret-mob-front-law-firm again today, so I'll probably be quite chatty again.
How is everyone?
I also answered to Fred for a part of high school.
I've always answered to Fred, mostly. Except for the grandmother who insisted on "Fritz" or, in her lighter moods, "Fritzer," And a while in 5th-6th grade or so, when I tried to switch to Pete, but that didn't stick outside the family. (It probably stuck inside the family because I'm Fred, Jr. So avoided confusion with my father.) And there was the grad school roommate who insisted on calling me Frederick -- he was a Michael who never, ever, ever responded to Mike.
My best friend in grade school when by Robert at school and Bobby at home. (He was a Junior, too.)
Being a Junior came in handy when I had another Fred as a roommate. When someone would call asking for "Fred," I knew to respond, "Which one?" (Which soon shifted to "Fred P. or Fred B.?") Fred B. would assume they were asking for him, which led to some confusion.
I had a professor in college who could never remember my name and usually ended up calling me Tammy. Karma caught up to him though - his wife got a MacArthur grant and he didn't. I also sometimes geet called Toby ... which is better than Tammy and INFINITELY better than Toddy (shudder).
Someone down the hall is wearing ungodly strong aftershave. I do not need a headache this early in the morning.
Yuck. Strong aftershave is so difficult to deal with. My brother uses really strong stuff from time to time and I always want to smack him.
Hopefully it won't be so bad all morning?
I need to be getting ready for work, but my left hand is currently trapped under the cat.
I suspect I may be late
Is this Take Your Cat To Work Day? Perhaps he would consent to lounge on your hand at work ....
Check with ita ! ? It might be Wear A Cat To Work Day.
Well, it could?
I see no issue with bringing the cat to work. What could possibly go wrong?
In today's the-phone-has-not-rung-once boredom I started writing an essay on how Doctor Who and Torchwood can save the world. That's, uh, a completely normal and not uber-nerdy thing to do, right?
Yeah, I didn't think so either.
