So ... what is on the desk, zuisa?
We're very quiet this morning. And my massage got postponed so I'm pouting.
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.

was there a fire?
This ancient computer. That's it. But there'd be nowhere else to sit, so... yeah. I think they also want me facing the elevator in case visitors come in? Which they don't. But no one really calls, either. Half the people who supposedly work here still aren't in, and it's almost 11:00. The whole place is just a mystery.
Chicagoistas! Anyone want to see a play Friday? [link] I can get 4 tix. Let me know.
I would love to, but I'm actually going to be in Bloomington on Friday. Boo!!!!
Is it a mob front? It sounds like a mob front. Or some sort of super-secret, quasi-governmental organization. Oooh, let's go with that.
Or a place that's in the process of going out of business (unless everyone's working from home).

This sounds fun.
It's a law firm, I think, but nobody who works here is named any of the names that the law firm is called.
Be careful about pushing any unlabeled buttons on the desk, you don't know what might unfold or discharge.
I had a temp job like that once! Near the elevator on a floor that wasn't the main floor for the company (so no one came in that way) and answering the phone in a place where everyone had a direct line (so there weren't many calls). The credenza was full of paperbacks, so I guessed the person I was filling in for didn't have any other significant responsibilities. Good times.
No fire, Sox. His dad is in the hospital.
Maybe it's a mob law firm!
