People were expressing disappointment that Tor and Subterranean Press had chosen to publish it, and this one person is convinced that therefore SubPress is being oppressed. Their rights to free speech are being chilled.

Because they'll be reluctant to publish "challenging" work in the future. That's the argument, anyway.
That this is a natural consequence of anyone saying anything in public (or publishing anything, same diff) just doesn't appear to sink in.
I don't rant about the pefidious Republicans (much) on my LJ because I don't really want to moderate a contentious political argument in the comments. That doesn't mean I'm being oppressed, it means I've calculated the cost-benefit analysis of saying the Republicans are poopyheads.
Oddly, we're both looking for dogs.
