Our wings are not tired.

Pix, that's a lot.

Go Gracie and Noah!

Suzi, next time it will be easier.

What Tom, Consuela, and Hec left out was that the reason Tom is at Conseula's and not my house is that Tom and I were both kicked out of my house rather unceremoniously yesterday. I'm too tired to type, and if you're on The Facebook or The Twitter you might already know, but an errant & ancient toilet decided to stop working in the middle of the night and my house was flooded. After the approximately 20k worth of flood, asbestos, repairs, repainting, etc are complete, I'll feel better! It's a gigantic inconvenience and a bit of a shock 41 days into home-ownership, but whatever. I am in hotels (thank goodness I stockpiled points) for this week and then I'll be in my living room for a few weeks while the bedrooms are put back together. I am hoping very much that I won't have to replace my hardwood floors. They are puffy so it's 50/50.

I stopped by my house after a really, really nice and mellow dinner with Tom and Connie and I have to admit that seeing everything I own strewn into the middle of the living room with fans and humidifiers bigger than me everywhere (including some extremely loud equipment being used to clear out water from user the house) was difficult. But, no one was hurt. It's just a huge and expensive inconvenience. I'm thankful to some wonderful neighbors, to Tom for helping me clean while we were both nearly incoherent from lack of sleep and panic, to connie for retrieving Tom from my house and providing him some comfy shelter, and to my friend Charlie, who is keeping the Wigglebutts for me until I can move back in.

And, I really love black raspberry ice cream!

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

Holy crap, javachik, that sucks like ten thousand Dysons. I'm glad you have people looking out for you.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

That's great, Aurelia!

I'm sorry, javachik. How annoying for you.

Happy birthday, P-C!

The lost sheep grow teeth, forsake their lambs, and lie with the lions.

Gah! That's awful, javachik!

Also, happiest of birthdays, P-C!

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

Avoiding the coverage yesterday was a good idea, it seems. I just watched a video of some kids singing "Empire State of Mind" to some firefighters, and I started crying. I need to pull myself together and get dressed and get to work.

Now tagless for your comfort.

Matt, that is made of Mod Awesomeness!

java, I hope that the repairs can be made timely, conveniently and not as expensively as they're quoted.

Allyson, give it a day. Two tops. 'Murricans have a rapid news cycle.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Today is wear sequins to work day. I'm sorry I didn't announce it earlier, but you should be able to address this at your lunch hour.

Also, happy birthday, P-C.
