Everybody dies, Tracey. Someone's carrying a bullet for you right now, doesn't even know it. The trick is to die of old age before it finds you.

We are Buffistas. This isn't our first apocalypse. -- Pix

That sounds better than the Trader Joe's pizza I had for dinner!

It was the zucchini-corn-lime-cilantro pizza recipe from Arizmendi. Came out fantastic, but I take no credit for its success (and I left the second pizza in the oven too long, so it got a little carbonated). Arizmendi can do no wrong, so far as pizza is concerned.

And then javachik & Tom got to enjoy the wonder that is black raspberry ice cream. NOM.

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

Thursday is my last herceptin infusion

Yay!

I talked to my parents this evening and the first thing my mom wanted to know is how close to the Sears tower I'll be working this week. Sigh. The only notable things about downtown Chicago today were the big ass flag on the Wrigley Building, the Emergency Management SUV parked next to the water tower and the fact that ALL the sailboats were out on Lake Michigan.

Wait, is this real-world child support, where the money goes to buy food for the kids, or MRA fantasyland child support where the women just buy Ferraris and cocaine? -Jessica

I wonder when it will be safe to surf the web.

The status is NOT quo.

Yay Aurelia!

I was very productive today. I cleaned the kitchen, did dishes, put dishes away, took out trash and recycling, cleaned litterboxes, did three loads of laundry, put away pile of clean laundry, read a bit more of Pride and Prejudice, took care of some work emails, created emailing lists for my junior and senior parents so I could send newsletters I put together about the beginning of the year, and verified that the two courses I'd submitted to the UCs for approval has been approved. I would like a bubble bath and a massage now, please.

Our wings are not tired.

Pix, that's a lot.

Go Gracie and Noah!

Suzi, next time it will be easier.

What Tom, Consuela, and Hec left out was that the reason Tom is at Conseula's and not my house is that Tom and I were both kicked out of my house rather unceremoniously yesterday. I'm too tired to type, and if you're on The Facebook or The Twitter you might already know, but an errant & ancient toilet decided to stop working in the middle of the night and my house was flooded. After the approximately 20k worth of flood, asbestos, repairs, repainting, etc are complete, I'll feel better! It's a gigantic inconvenience and a bit of a shock 41 days into home-ownership, but whatever. I am in hotels (thank goodness I stockpiled points) for this week and then I'll be in my living room for a few weeks while the bedrooms are put back together. I am hoping very much that I won't have to replace my hardwood floors. They are puffy so it's 50/50.

I stopped by my house after a really, really nice and mellow dinner with Tom and Connie and I have to admit that seeing everything I own strewn into the middle of the living room with fans and humidifiers bigger than me everywhere (including some extremely loud equipment being used to clear out water from user the house) was difficult. But, no one was hurt. It's just a huge and expensive inconvenience. I'm thankful to some wonderful neighbors, to Tom for helping me clean while we were both nearly incoherent from lack of sleep and panic, to connie for retrieving Tom from my house and providing him some comfy shelter, and to my friend Charlie, who is keeping the Wigglebutts for me until I can move back in.

And, I really love black raspberry ice cream!

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

Holy crap, javachik, that sucks like ten thousand Dysons. I'm glad you have people looking out for you.

That's great, Aurelia!

I'm sorry, javachik. How annoying for you.

Happy birthday, P-C!
