Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

Heading to the folk festival in a little while.

I am bondo-ing huge cracks in the porch. This is even less fun because I keep getting interrupted by bickering children.

mr. flea left for Ohio at 8am. He starts work tomorrow.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

ok Ita, that's good to know.

I just wanted to make sure you were up to date. Also, mindnumbingly bored.

Me, not you, to be clear.

If you need to know what mackle means, don't hesitate to ask.

I have just gotten halfway through of a pile of writing on Jamaican folk magic. Seems everyone finished writing about it decades ago. That's sort of depressing. I'd love to know more about current beliefs and practitioners.

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

I'm reading about the history of deaf education. In the early 1800s, there was a guy in Philadelphia who read some books about how a school in France was educating deaf kids, so he went and found some deaf kids playing on the street and convinced them to come to his house so that he could try to educate them and test out what he'd just learned. There are so many ways that wouldn't fly today. (This guy later became the principal of the first formal school for the deaf in Philadelphia, and he was accused of molesting some teenage girls there.)

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

So, I have decided that I cannot read my rss feeds today, nor can I read twitter. I have decided to do some online shopping and watch the guild instead.

I've got HGTV on my TV, LeNubian. It seems to be a safe choice.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

okay, thank you. I have "The Wire", but I think I would like something a bit more upbeat.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

I was determined not to watch any 9/11 memorials today. I don't want to be bawling my eyes out all day. Then my sister called me crying and asked me to turn on CNN where Paul Simon was playing and singing Sound of Silence, and I can't say no, now can I? So now I'm all teary.

And my niece decided today was the day to go driving around DC in a white van with expired plates, completely unaware of the heightened security. ISTG.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

Turns out my day is going to be almost entirely devoted to children's birthday parties. 3 of them (although I am only chaperoning for 2). My yesterday? Devoted to children's soccer games, plus laundry and grocery shopping.

No Klondike bars ftr, but DH had to go out later and correct my failure to purchase ice cream.

Hugs and warm thoughts to everyone today.

My HGTV is Canadian, so programming may vary.
