See, in my fantasy, when I'm kissing you... you're kissing me. It's okay. I can wait.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

I was determined not to watch any 9/11 memorials today. I don't want to be bawling my eyes out all day. Then my sister called me crying and asked me to turn on CNN where Paul Simon was playing and singing Sound of Silence, and I can't say no, now can I? So now I'm all teary.

And my niece decided today was the day to go driving around DC in a white van with expired plates, completely unaware of the heightened security. ISTG.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

Turns out my day is going to be almost entirely devoted to children's birthday parties. 3 of them (although I am only chaperoning for 2). My yesterday? Devoted to children's soccer games, plus laundry and grocery shopping.

No Klondike bars ftr, but DH had to go out later and correct my failure to purchase ice cream.

Hugs and warm thoughts to everyone today.

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

TCM is showing New York movies all day. Or, at least, until 8. Then they're showing Casablanca and a bunch of war movies. But during the day, there's Life Begins for Andy Hardy, Pride of the Yankees, 42nd Street, Guys and Dolls, The Clock, Annie Hall, and On the Town. I probably would have replaced one of the musicals with Breakfast at Tiffany's, but still, this is a tribute I like.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Aw, Cliff Robertson passed away yesterday.

Bye, Charlie.

I tried to make coffee this morning before I had coffee. Predictably it went awry. Also? The toast I tried to make before I had coffee got burnt.

A dress should be tight enough to show you're a woman but loose enough to flee from zombies. — Ginger

No TV or radio for me today, which is fine, because I watch little non-DVR'd TV and I'll be cleaning and working today.

ita (god, Ita look so weird to my eyes!), have you any, ahem, friends with access to J-STOR and such? There should be more modern studies if you look up theses or dissertations on obeah, modern Jamaican or Carribean folk magic/religions.

Also, some links from Harvard here:

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

Will someone yell at me to get moving?

I really need to get up off the sofa so that I can get to Target and TJs before the masses of people do, but I keep not.
