Ann, that's a ferret.

New from DC: We have sunshine!

Because books.

We have sunshine, too! It's lovely.

And I'm frigging BOUNCING because my editor sent me the book trailer they made for Cold Kiss, which she completely forgot to tell me they were doing, so I was shocked. It's SO cool! And I can't share it yet!

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

I'm in the multimedia room of PS230 while Dylan finishes up his second day of pre-k. Y'all, I have a kid in SCHOOL.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

How can you have a kid in school? Unpossible.

Bev, I thought about you this morning whilst folding sheets (smelled lovely from being line dried). I will never ever learn the skill you have for making the fitted sheet anything other than a clumpy mess.

Ate too much mac and cheese for lunch. Send help. Or possibly vegetables.

In fact they could live with gas mileage that really sucks even if gas goes up to $10 per gallon, as long as they can get a good safe cheap-to-insure reliable car at a low or moderate price. If they live with gas mileage that sucks is a bargain possible on good used cars.

An old Ford Crown Vic might work well. They should be really cheap and they're supposed to be pretty bulletproof.

Friends don't let friends read "Atlas Shrugged"

sunshine? is that what that is? I popped out for a lunch break (had to make it quick because my boss gave me an urgent project without saying she needed it asap) so I ended up with a cupcake for lunch. My eyes got all squinty and it's warm and steamy outside ... guess that's the sun, huh?

A dress should be tight enough to show you're a woman but loose enough to flee from zombies. — Ginger

It's raining now, and we're supposed to meet people at an outdoor bar tonight. Piss. Not that we have money to drink it up, but I think can empty the change jar and get a couple of cheap drinks apiece. My friend's in from Alaska, so it's An Occasion.

OTOH, I have been extremely accomplished today! Woo! And I think I netted my first completely independent of anyone I know writing gig! It's a small one (partial water bill!), but with potential to edit/proof this person's non-fic e-book! YAY!

I can't listen to talk radio while writing. I stop and listen too much, or else I start muttering to myself.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

When I was looking at the forecast yesterday, I couldn't figure out what the yellow circle meant.... and now it's all bright outside! Confusing.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

An old Ford Crown Vic might work well. They should be really cheap and they're supposed to be pretty bulletproof.

Good idea.

Here in Chicago there's a dealership that sells used Crown Vic cop cars. Cop cars are even more "bulletproof"--they have heavy-duty suspensions, engines, transmission, etc.

However, don't buy any used taxi cab. I've heard the worst used cop car is still better than the best used taxi.
