I'm not surprised DOT is going ape-shit over it. LaHood is really hammering at the distracted driving message, and Ford is being slightly tone-deaf in its responses to official inquiries. Jen, the water was that high in 1996 and 2004. It's still going higher. Only Agnes in '72 will surpass it--that was 30 feet and change.
This is three major floods this year: March, April, and September. I can't ever remember that many in the same year, ever.
