Sparky, I'm so sorry you had to deal with that. I'm behind all of the plans for her put forward so far.
Holli - so jealous!
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.

Holy crap, I just saw on Facebook that a friend from Yardley's kid is starting her freshman year at a private Quaker high school up there. It's *$31,000+* a YEAR for a DAY student.
I'm going to go pick my jaw up off the floor now.
Sparky, how fucking ridiculous. Someone seriously pissed in that person's Cheerios.
Damn, Allyson, you made me cry. I have a twitter account though I never use it, so I will tweet and post on fb, and buy the pilot (I've been wanting to make StW watch it anyway), and do whatever the hell else I can. I already bought the song AND the ringtone on iTunes long ago (warning: the ringtone is NOT Robert Duncan) and of course I pimp it to anyone who will stand still long enough.
That would be so brilliant. "Really, I'm here for two reasons, Hoda...."
"And speaking of dogs, but not really..."
Buffista vengeance is the very best vengeance.
I've begun cleaning/organizing my office. Really, this should be in ASSCAPS with flaming angels or something. Is there a flaming-angel font? Seriously, this is a big deal.
Zen, I laughed so loud. You go, girl! I am still fighting the eternal battle of the dirty dishes, and soon I have to see if I can find an open laundromat so I can Wash All The Clothes.
I think there's something wrong with my roommate. She works two jobs, works seven days a week, and she's been in a royally shitty mood for the last three days because she had off from work. I mean, wut? It's her first time off in a month.
Private high school tuition always horrifies me. There's a school near me where all of us who were big into theater wanted to go to (in the wildest depths of our imaginations) because they had the best drama department, and tution is $35,000/year. The place just looks like money. It's crazy.
Thanks for the Seattle tips, everyone! Obviously if any Seattle people want to like, do lunch or something, I'm 100% up for that as well!

Maybe she's one of those people who really doesn't know how to relax, or what to do with herself when she's at loose ends.
The tuition at many of the elementary schools around here is $25,000, so I'm not surprised at a high school where the tuition is $31,000. I'm just surprised anyone can afford it. We're trying to save enough money to pay those kinds of prices for college!
I would think that the best connection would be "the power of social networking on the Internet"
Ha! Amy, the George school? Yeah... my sister and her partner are not unhappy that their daughter loves public school with all of her friends.

Yeah, I guess. She's been knitting and watching movies. Right now she's playing with one of the kittens and listening to a wildlife documentary. I tried to get her to come to Tom's party with me last night, but no go. I am just so not like that.
When I was working with my scholarship, parents told me that they paid those prices for high school hoping that their kids would get a scholarship to college.
