So you know how my iPod broke and I ran and got a little Nano?
G & J just sent me a brand new one. They didn't even know the one they had given me a few years ago broke.
It's so weird, because I wrote to G a couple of weeks ago to tell him that it was one of the best presents I ever got in my whole life, and I think of them often because sometimes when I feel like I am going to break, I just put in my headphones and it saves me.
And then I come home today, and there's a new iTouch on my doorstep.
How in the hell did I ever attract such awesome, generous people? I'm a total inept dick.
I am so proud of CJ. Again. It is over a week away, but CJ wants to participate in a memorial stair climb on Sept. 11th. He has even sent a note to his ARP chief to see if he can do it in uniform and if it can be an official ARP activity.
I have met, flirted or otherwise with no celebs, minor or otherwise.
But dude, I live in Kansas City!
My friend who got me the haircut today was a flight attendant on the private campaign plane of Hilary Clinton's, and Bill Clinton looked down her shirt (she has huge boobs) and called her hon.
That's all I got.
And one of my college buddies got high with one of the Ramones in an alley in the 80's.
What a good kid. Someone must be raising him right. (ETA: CJ, that is, not Erin's college buddy, though I'm sure he's perfectly good, too.)
How in the hell did I ever attract such awesome, generous people?
Uh, I know you a fair bit. Makes total sense, miss gives and fights and gives again.
But dude, I live in Kansas City!
I work with known actors fairly regularly now, but some of my best stories are from nowhere MI and Columbia, MO. I spent an evening in a bar with Anthony Rapp making Skill-Crane toys do lewd things to each other. I chatted with Greg Louganis about his dogs. Itzhak Perlman handed his violin to me.
I've met and spent time with a ton of famous people, and have many great memories. But the one that slays people so it's fun to mention is that I spent the day with George Clooney (my friend Amey used to be his assistant). The funny thing is that while we were hanging on the Warners lot, I met the writer of "A Perfect World" and I was FAR more impressed with having a chance to talk to him for awhile than I was hanging with the Clooney.
Both of the long term relationships I had (before the last one) were with film folk. W is no longer involved in film, but J is an editor who works steadily.
I am so impressed with Grace for taking on soccer, tears or no. Go Gracie!
We had a family private with my stretch teacher today. Franny rocked the push ups. The girl did a set of 20!
I wish I could do 20 pushups!
I met the new principal at my school today. I don't know what to think. I do know that a coworker resigned yesterday which means we are down 3 English teachers from last year, only one of whom will be replaced. I'm so tired and we haven't even started the school year.
