What a good kid. Someone must be raising him right. (ETA: CJ, that is, not Erin's college buddy, though I'm sure he's perfectly good, too.)

How in the hell did I ever attract such awesome, generous people?

Uh, I know you a fair bit. Makes total sense, miss gives and fights and gives again.

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

But dude, I live in Kansas City!

I work with known actors fairly regularly now, but some of my best stories are from nowhere MI and Columbia, MO. I spent an evening in a bar with Anthony Rapp making Skill-Crane toys do lewd things to each other. I chatted with Greg Louganis about his dogs. Itzhak Perlman handed his violin to me.

Our wings are not tired.

I've met and spent time with a ton of famous people, and have many great memories. But the one that slays people so it's fun to mention is that I spent the day with George Clooney (my friend Amey used to be his assistant). The funny thing is that while we were hanging on the Warners lot, I met the writer of "A Perfect World" and I was FAR more impressed with having a chance to talk to him for awhile than I was hanging with the Clooney.

Both of the long term relationships I had (before the last one) were with film folk. W is no longer involved in film, but J is an editor who works steadily.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

I am so impressed with Grace for taking on soccer, tears or no. Go Gracie!

We had a family private with my stretch teacher today. Franny rocked the push ups. The girl did a set of 20!

I wish I could do 20 pushups!

I met the new principal at my school today. I don't know what to think. I do know that a coworker resigned yesterday which means we are down 3 English teachers from last year, only one of whom will be replaced. I'm so tired and we haven't even started the school year.

Is it wrong that my favorite part of today's tee [link] is the Asteroids ship?

I know, me too. I mean, granted her push ups were a bit shallow, but still!

Does that mean all that work load falls on the rest of you? That sounds kind of impossible. I don't know how you do all that grading.

Yes. As it is, I've been the only 12th grade teacher at my school. The teacher who taught an film elective and English support is the one who retired. One of the 11th grade teachers was displaced/not replaced. So there is one 11th teacher and he only teaches 2 periods a day (journalism is one and AP Language is the other). I have no idea what they are going to do with those students!

Anyhow, not my issue. I cannot teach any more than I teach!
