Naively, however, I can't properly believe in them thinking it's okay to talk (nay, brag) about it in front of strangers that way. Jesus.
It's both cognitivie dissonance and the kind of behavior valorized by some of the bro-type comedies, I think. And stuff like those guys, the players, too, I think. Looking at women that way is pretty common in this culture: fungibility is a feature, not a bug.

That story is completely creepy. I wish I were surprised. Or, you know, what Tep said. I can totally see his friends thinking that story was hilarious.
I would like to know what the reaction of the audience that night was.
The story said that the audience was laughing.
I would have liked to have been there with Amanda Marcotte and an axe.
Apparently, at least some of them laughed throughout, but I'm sure at least a handful were grossed out/horrified.
I wonder if he knows just how much trouble he's in. I mean, they would have to find the woman, corroborate the story, and maybe if it's all true, she doesn't want to talk about it.
But I'm trying to imagine someone telling a story about me like that, in front of a laughing audience. Rage.
