The artist formerly associated with cupcakes.

Drummer of the Damned ... sounds like a title of something

Actually, it kinda sounds like my dating history in my early 20s. There was a reason that not a musician was one of the criteria my friends had for who I should date.

Wait, is this real-world child support, where the money goes to buy food for the kids, or MRA fantasyland child support where the women just buy Ferraris and cocaine? -Jessica

As I was on my hunt for VMA spoilers, I tripped over some articles on Adam Yauch's cancer treatments. Tons of articles crediting his vegan diet and chinese medicine for his recovery.

None credited the surgeon who cut it out nor the doctor who blasted him with radiation for six weeks. Nope! It was all about the bok choy and wheat grass!

I sense an essay coming on...

As an aside, The Beastie Boys like carrots.

Because books.

Have we all seen the video of two Cleverbots having a conversation?

I just watched it. "No I am a unicorn." Okay then! That was excellent, and slightly creepy.

Now tagless for your comfort.

Allyson, a woman I used to babysit for when I was a kid was in a small plane that crashed in Florida, recently. I'm thankful and she and her daughter were lucky they made it out but all of her thanks and praise went to God--not one word praising the skill and resourcefulness of her pilot.

I wish I could hire my 22 year old brother in law as a nanny--he is AWESOME with my kids!

"It didn't taste good. It tasted soooo horrible. It tasted like....a vodka martini." - Matilda

I knew several people who treated their cancer solely with diet, Chinese medicine, vitamins, enemas, juicing, etc., because cancer treatments are "poison." They are all dead.

Remember that the frontier of the Rebellion is everywhere. And even the smallest act of insurrection pushes our lines forward.

cancer treatments are "poison."

They ARE poison. No scare quotes necessary. That is the whole point of it.

You know, I don't have any particular issue with people who pray and meditate and change their diet...I think it gives people some sense of sanity to be able to control something when their bodies go haywire.

But there's something odd about forgoing medicine for "natural" remedies.

Hydrofluoric acid is natural. Have a cup! Have a gory death. You're surrounded by radiation. It's everywhere. Welcome to the fucking universe. It's totes natural!

In addition, cancer is also natural.

Because books.

What Tom said. But they poison the cancer!

A woman my mom works with was telling her about her brother -- he came home one day to find his wife dead, and there was a letter from her left somewhere for him to find. She'd been diagnosed with cancer a few months before, and had opted for no treatment, but also NEVER TOLD HIM. They don't have kids, either, so he's completely alone, and dealing with a hell of a lot of anger as well as grief.
