I find that constant cleaning doesn't work so well, so I use the horror of what an upcoming visitor will think of my apartment to motivate me into big cleaning sprees.
If it weren't for impending guests, my place would never be cleaned.

I realize you're supposed to buy into the whole system and everything, but I'm past needing that in my life. I figure I'll use what works for me and ignore what doesn't.
Actually, Flylady pretty much says to make it work for you. I ignore the shoes thing, I think that's geared towards people who stay at home and in their pajamas all day. My kitchen is a shithole right now and I have a ton of laundry, and I don't know when I'm going to get to either one (meeting after work tonight).

I am so organizationally and house-cleaning challenged right now, I do not even know. My sink is a disaster, kitchen counters and table are too, stuff is just everywhere and there is too much of everything. Maybe next week after Labor Day travels, I will be energized to make some headway.
