I was given a powerpoint presentation to proof.
All the text is in bold red and blue papyrus. Occasionally in SHADOW with ITALICS, for no apparent reason.
I took out the bold/shadow/italics and noted on the paper copy that, "Papyrus is not a body text font. Your audience will be able to read it better in Times or Arial."
I am currently waiting to be told that I am a jerk for doing this. But I somehow feel as though I have at least given the audience a fighting chance at keeping their eyes from bleeding.
Does anyone know what the psychology is behind people who use BOLD SHADOW ITAL in every piece of text on slides?
They've discovered they CAN do it, so they feel they must.
Same sort of thing happened when word processing programs got popular, leading to the "ransom note" style of using every font available.
At starbucks for wifi and to charge my cell. No power since Sunday am. Car died Sunday pm. Loki accidentally spent the night out. I freaked. To he'll with work.
Neighbors have been a godsend. Hurricane party , no power party by candlelight, margaritas tonight, one loaned me her car so I could go swim ( my pool still not open)..
Yeah, it's been a long few days.
I find that constant cleaning doesn't work so well, so I use the horror of what an upcoming visitor will think of my apartment to motivate me into big cleaning sprees.
If it weren't for impending guests, my place would never be cleaned.
It is so NICE to wake up to an empty sink!
My DH does. Since he does the cooking, I do the dishes before I leave for work in the morning.

I realize you're supposed to buy into the whole system and everything, but I'm past needing that in my life. I figure I'll use what works for me and ignore what doesn't.
Actually, Flylady pretty much says to make it work for you. I ignore the shoes thing, I think that's geared towards people who stay at home and in their pajamas all day. My kitchen is a shithole right now and I have a ton of laundry, and I don't know when I'm going to get to either one (meeting after work tonight).
