Giles, if you would like to get by in American society, then you are going to have to follow our traditions. You're the patriarch. You have to host the festivities, or it's all meaningless.

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

Why do the Carolinas have fashion bloggers?

I, too, am confused.

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

Just don't use Comic Sans Serif or Steph will cut YOU!

Or Papyrus.

(The font, that is. I think a resume on real papyrus would be keen.)

msbelle, sounds like he's an asshat, but that you are taking away ways to deal with asshattery?

I am currently working off of 4 laptops at the same time. This is a record for me.

My laptop has a hate-hate relationship with my LCD projector at school, making it not a good candidate for workage. So I am using another laptop so mine can go to the nice repair people. The other one has a newer OS (booo) and none of my crap. So I'm firewiring stuff to it. Except I can't get either laptops to work as a target so I'm firewiring stuff through my older home laptop.

First world issue, yes?

I also just agreed to 3-times a week OT for the month of May. Which means Grace's nurse will be taking Grace to 3-times a week OT for that month.

an overblown libretto and a sumptuous score/ could never contain the contradictions I adore

I found a Renn Faire bodice at the thrift store today. I know the brand-- I have one already, actually-- and it retails for $140. It was discount day, so I didn't even spend the $25 it was marked as. Behold my thrifting, for it is fearsome.

Oh, I know there's a bunch of Pride & Prejudice lovers on here, and Bas Bleu has a lovely P&P t-shirt: [link]

See? I gave everybody here an opportunity to tell me what a bad person I am and nobody did, because I fuckin' rule.

There is no way msbelle's resume is not the nicest of them all, and I declare the friend of a friend a stinkbutt.

Important non-government-shutdown news: Matilda just lost her first baby tooth.

Oh man! She's too little for that JZ!

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

I just finished my Pride & Prejudice reread yesterday and today. I was going to do Sense & Sensibility first, but the copy I got was all ferwonky. And anyway, now I have to do Don Quixote before my library copy expires.

Oh, surely not, JZ! She's adorable.

My friends just had their first baby. She had an early miscarriage and then a stillbirth, so this is their third attempt and everybody is healthy. With all the death around, I'm glad to see the birth and youth.

Eee.

Kat, in comparing Noah's and Tyler's speech, I'm a BIG FAN of the language therapy N got. I think T needs it. His ear issues mean his speech is...well, not delayed, he's got a huge vocab, but he's really hard to understand. Cereal is yoeh-yoh. Which kinda makes sense to me if he was hearing through a cloud of fluid. (Dominic was Nomnic.) But not right for a 4 year old. He gets really frustrated with me one on one- Dominic can translate (as I'm sure his parents can.) SIL is trying to get him into therapy, and I know my mom wants me to video his speech to get a consult from her speech pathologist at work.

Yeah. We are blessed that Noah had Speech but also that he has a good ear. He's a marvelous mimic and he doesn't really mind being corrected. Well, mostly. I cannot get him to stop saying VALLERINA instead of Ballerina. Drives me batty.

It's hard to get services for kids past 3. Early intervention is federally-funded but after 3 it is school district. So, SIL should try calling the local district and requesting an assessment for speech.

I think my file migration is complete.
