Second best is turning it on full strength without telling the person in the passenger seat.
A friend has a story about how she did this to someone and they didn't say anything for a long time until they finally burst out with, "We have to stop my ass is on fire!"
Between the two of them, my nieces in VA have something like 14 American Girl dolls. I believe that is including the bitty twins.
and then I played with them so hard and for so many years they are basically ruined, which is sad, as I bet dolls that old from a company that huge would be worth something now.
Awww, that's not sad. According to the mythos of the Velveteen Rabbit those dolls achieved aliveness.
My father believes in them mildly too, and he's more than willing to tell me everything he knows and tell me where to look to find more.
She's just being oddly academically snobby, which surprises me. I'd have thought this was her bailiwick, tied up with obeah as it is.
When I had questions about sex, she could find me a sex therapist to talk to, but this? She's got nothing.
From a ways back:
Also, all the navy ships in Norfolk were ordered to sea today for the storm, and my cousin was supposed to be home with his kids this weekend. But I guess you got to keep your billion-dollar boats safe.
So, wait, they're taking the boats out into the ocean just in time for a massive hurricane? I mean, I'm assuming the object is to take them out past the range of the storm, but still, just the thought is nerve-wracking. What if the storm goes off course? Wouldn't it make more sense to put them into dry dock somewhere?
Signed, okay, I obviously know nothing about boats.
I had an American Girl doll when I was a kid. I loved her. I got it pretty soon after the company started, before they got bought out by Mattel, so she's got "Made in West Germany" printed on the back of her neck, instead of "Made in China" like the new ones have. And she had curly brown hair and brown eyes like me, when almost all my other dolls had blue eyes, and this made me very happy.
I'm concerned for my neighbor who is on a cruise right now - I'm only guessing that it's a Carribbean cruise and not, say, Alaska, but I really hope she's out of danger.
I'm flying to California tomorrow morning, before the weather gets bad. One of the trips I was thinking of taking was a New England cruise. I'm glad I didn't!
K-Bug was totally spoiled with her American Girl doll - Samantha. They don't make her anymore. My mom would hand her the catalog and tell her to mark what she wanted. While mom didn't buy it all, I swear she tried her best. K-Bug even has a wheelchair for her, I don't recall why, but she does.
