I've never left the building in Jamaica either, and I'm pretty sure those buildings aren't that quake proof.

Lizard brain at work. Plus, 1st floor of a 4 story brick building on a ravine, overlooking the ravine. Wanted to get away from even feeling like I might fall into the ravine.
I'm glad I read sarameg's post before it started shaking here, otherwise I would have been a whole lot more freaked out about the ground shaking across from ground zero.
Scrappy, I'm in DC and everything seems to be fine. I didn't leave the first time - a bunch of people came back up and then went back down - and haven't felt an aftershock.

LA buildings are a lot more earthquake-proof. The last I heard, the only building built to significant seismic standards in Georgia was Vogtle nuclear plant.
