Timelies. CJ's 7:15am text that he was back at HQ woke me up. I'm just waiting for him to grab his gear, then home and maybe back to sleep.
Oh phew, Suzi.
I just realized why I'm weirdly obsessed with buying new clothes for no reason -- it's just because it's getting toward the end of the season and I'm bored with my summer clothes. I do this twice a year. I just need to hold out another month or so, and it will be like all new clothes! On the other hand, I do need a couple of new blouses, but I do NOT need several dresses from Boden.
Bah, I do not want to go back to work this morning. OTOH, being on vacation since last Tuesday has done wonders for my attitude. Who knew painting patio furniture and chasing toddlers around could be so relaxing?
I hereby resolve to treat the Nemesis with the attention she deserves, which is minimal.
Steelcut oatmeal:
ita, that coat is adorbs! I don't think I could pull it off, it's too pale. And I have a bright red trench I love. But you should totally get it.
I brought up that page, and it said, "ita's Candy Connoisseur Coat".
ita ! should get the coat!
I am horrible at seeking medical attention, I know. But I hate it! My old boss, who is an orthopedic nurse practitioner thinks I have problems with my sacroiliac joint because my right leg turns in from the hip because of a (known) malformation of my hip joint.
Things don't hurt just because of excess weight. Excess weight may exacerbate some things, but it's a doctor's job to find out the actual problem first. Just waving the "lose weight" magic wand doesn't cut it.
Try the naproxen and if one tablet twice a day doesn't cut it, try two at night and one in the daytime. There's probably some form of inflammation involved, so taking a steady dose of nsaids rather than just when it hurts may help.
There are a depressing number of things that the first suggestion for treatment is to lose weight, which to me is the equivalent of "First, catch a dragon."
By the way, I don't think there's a time-zone difference between Louisville and Cincy. Unless it started in the last few months. (You didn't say that here, but I thought you mentioned it in an e-mail and I forgot to reply to it.)
Really? Huh. The time change must be between Nashville and Louisville then, unless I'm getting totally mixed up -- Cincy is on Eastern time, right? *googles* Yep, Louisville and Cincy are both on Eastern time. I was thinking Louisville was slightly west of Nashville, but actually it's slightly east, so that makes sense.
Sophia, I hope you can get some relief soon!
Boy is in the bath tub - check FB for how filthy he was. All that and they weren't able to recover the body. Apparently a guy found him Saturday in a series of caves on the far side of the mountain. After having teams work their way up and over, it was determined that they didn't have the expertise or equipment to recover the body. The family is hiring a private "expert".
CJ used the term clusterf*ck to describe the whole day and it sure sounds like it from what he told me. There was a group of volunteers with horses trying to help with the recover. One horse stumbled and rolled over his rider, breaking the rider's leg. CJ did get to help carry him back to base camp. Another horse, that was being led, tripped and broke two of his legs and was put down. Then they decided horses were a bad idea.
CJ spent most of the day at the top of the mountain as part of a communication relay team.
I'm working until my brain dies, then it is nap time.
