Xander: I still don't get why we came here to get info about a killer snot monster. Giles: Because it's a killer snot monster from outer space. I did not say that.

Has anyone ever sold collectible books/prints online? Is eBay the best or is it better to set a price and sell it through a site like Alibris that is more aimed at collectors?

I keep trying to figure that out, too. I really need to figure out where the best place to sell the limited edition "Who Killed Amanda Palmer" book is. Because it's collectible, it's signed, and even though I love Neil Gaiman's writing, I am never ever going to read that book again. Some of the "death scene" photos are too much, even for my morbid sense of humor.

Hubby talks on Monday to the guy with the 6K in cash for Magic. If he doesn't show proper appreciation, I will definitely contact you.

Well, the 6K cash in hand IS a good deal. We recently sold off a bunch of sealed boxes (nothing super-rare, but still), and made about that much. Now if I could only convince Pete to sell off the complete sets of things he's got.

information libertarian

I've sold things through Amazon's second-hand bookselling, and I feel like that gets the most visibility, although they take a commission. Mostly I've sold fairly pricey academic books that are in print, or recently out of print, but not old or rare. You might ask a local bookseller if they take things on commission?

It's nuts, I haven't played the game in decades, but then I look at the cards and love the art, and I remember how much fun it was. Then I remember how much I hate the twistiness of modern rules--and of modern players--and know I won't be playing it anymore. Maybe I'll just grab screen shots and create a slide show of the prettiest stuff.

Oh, and Pete's signature on a card makes common cards more valuable, BTW.

Looks like there will be boozin' on the deck shortly. Woohoo!

Found out my pool is closing tomorrow, not monday. So tomorrow begins the schlep to far flung Ys. They totally screwed the scheduling because the next nearest doesn't reopen until Monday. Bleh.

Heh. Good to know.

He's been selling some of the original art, which is good but crazy. We had to sit down and decide which pieces were NOT ever for sale. (Baron Sengir. And the painting of me for the V:tES card.)

Well huh. CJ's ARP group is on call tomorrow morning to go into the mountains to assist with a body recovery. I believe this is the person from last weekend's search.

He is at his dad's for the weekend and finally KCD will get to know the "fun" of getting him to HQ for an early call.

I guess the car wash fundraiser scheduled for tomorrow is off.

If I were rich, I would buy all the goblin and orc stuff he had. He does wonderful orcs and gobbos.

So, that party last night?

Brothers' friends got me drinking. Today has been rough.

My mom and I had theater tickets, which was delightful, and sitting in the dark for two hours probably did me a lot of good, but then two friends her hers insisted we go for a drink with them, and they wouldn't let me not have one. It was basically torture. Yeesh.

At least I know I'll feel better tomorrow!
