OK- I think I might get it now. I think all these years the finance people and my boss were talking at cross purposes. She always felt that they were telling her we never made any money, when she could see that we were making money. And they just kept saying BUT YOU AREN'T COUNTING THE OVERHEAD!!!!

Oh, wait, that's the volleyball game? I loved that, it was so over the top. It's one of the few times I really felt sorry for Azula.
Gah. 90 minute conference call between some technical people and some admin people and I felt like I was the only one who understood both sides. I tried to "translate" a couple of times, but neither side wanted to take a moment to listen. I swear we spent at least 30 minutes clarifying, reclarifying, re-reclarifying one simple idea.
And now we have at least 3 more conference calls set up to rehash most of the stuff we were trying to deal with today. Oh, joy. The most frustrating person on the call is a gal whose job is to train others. She caused the vast majority of the confusion.
I have to share this snippet from the GCS mailbag, which has me making the same faces and sounds I make at flaily kittens:
