I kind of like that the new formula for teen shows seems to be
1. Acquire rights to YA series
2. Cast pretty young people
3. ?????
4. PROFIT.
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.

do have to fess up to having seen every single episode of Pretty Little Liars, though.
You know they're starting "The Lying Game" by the same author tonight, right? I haven't read Pretty Little Liars, but I have read Lying Game. Though sounds like the premise of the show is slightly tweaked from the book.
Amy, that's great! Don't you love the smell of signed contracts in the morning?
-t and Ginger, thanks for the food info. Most things do seem to be all right, but the meat and frozen dinners won't be getting a chance to make me sick. (I'm secretly pleased. I didn't want to eat the frozen dinners and I'm glad to have an excuse to throw them out!)
Amy, if (when) the show gets picked up, I will watch every single episode. Because not only am I a sucker for all teen shows, I also am a sucker for Buffistas in the media.
Awesome, Amy.
We don't actually make any money unless the show actually gets produced, so my excitement is sort of limited right now. I think it's cool, and it could be a good show (it's a post-apocalyptic thing -- sort of The Stand meets Survivor with teens), but the book series was a huge nightmare, and my original idea got so twisted that I didn't even write the last few books. So.
But thank you! And believe me, if the show does get made, I will happily cash checks.
Oh sweet, Amy.

I've seen the commercials, but I'm going to try not to watch it, if only because it's embarrassing enough that I watch "Pretty Little Liars". I haven't read either series, but from what I've head, "Pretty Little Liars" deviates pretty far from the source material as well.
Amy, you should try and sell them on the fact that you have a built in internet audience based on your time in the Buffy fandom. Or not?

If it's anything like the the pretty-horrible-but-I-couldn't-pull-myself-away New Zealand show The Tribe, I will be watching! Best of luck with it!
I also know nothing about the publishing industry, but it seems sadly common how often people don't get to finish writing the series they started. It's happening right now to the woman who writes "The Vampire Diaries" series.
