Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

I'm surprised I'm not more tired than I am, given that a) I stayed up until 11:30 to watch the championship game, b) I had trouble falling asleep, even with the Trazadone and c) I was awakened at 4:30 am by the storm.

And I have to get up early tomorrow for a dentist appointment. Whee.

We won’t stop until everyone is gay.

DJ, I think it's good you have both virtual and real shoulders to cry on, and I have definitely found Irish punk to be quite comforting myself.

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

I was quite happy to have both Netflix and a local Hollywood Video that I could browse at. The latter had well-stocked foreign movies and cult movies sections, and I could impulse-rent based on my mood of the moment instead of trying to predict what I'd feel like watching several days in advance. My hatred for Blockbster was specific to the chain, and it more than earned it in its dealings with me.

The artist formerly associated with cupcakes.

Help me, hivemind! I need to write a description for a panel I'm hosting at a local convention. It's the usual sort of Gothic Charm School Q&A thing, and the con is an anime/Japanese pop culture sort of thing. Lots of Gothic Lolitas and alterna-kids attend.

I have NO idea what to write for a panel description. Help?

sounds like a cool moment for some history-of-Goth &/or Anime? Find your family tree/Gothic lineage workshop?

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

What's the panel on, Jilli?

I laughed hard enough to shed tears when I passed this billboard on my errands today. It's just so fucking tasteless, you know. And is preaching to the converted, and won't convert anyone not in the choir.

serial:

So when I go grocery shopping, what brand of ice cream should I get? I like the simple flavours, like vanilla and strawberry. But creamy and natural. So, really, if there's anything better out there than Haagen Daz five for easy access, I'd love to try it.

I also tried Breyers...no Dryers. It was not good.
