Um, well, we listened to aggressively cheerful music sung by people chosen for their ability to dance. Then we ate cookie dough, and talked about boys.

I just learned from Fay, via Twitter, that Amy Winehouse has died.

Shocking, but not surprising.

Holy... I don't even know what to say. That's just awful. Jesus, those poor kids.

This is exactly my thinking. What a travesty.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

I'm so sorry to hear the news about Amy Winehouse, not that it's a shock -- there is always a hope that an addict can find their way to recovery.

Okay, I did our budget for after mr. flea's job ends. Depressed now. We can live for a year on my salary + savings, if we basically do no discretionary spending at all. Wouldn't that be fun.

Because books.

I feel like I shouldn't be surprised, but wow. So sad. Such a talent, and so much unhappiness.

Amy Winehouse was only 27, wow.

90 kids in Norway? Sweet Jesus.

flea, can mr. flea get a temporary thing while he looks for something more permanent? When I was a teenager and we moved to NC for Mom's job, Dad picked up a paper route for a few months until he landed a teaching position of his own. Even a minimum wage thing can help ease the finances a tad.

Well, the employment market for low-wage jobs is really tight, and I doubt too many people want to hire a PhD. Although Dillo did spontaneously suggest this morning that mr. flea's next job should be at Chuck E Cheese.
