A guy at a client's office has eight monitors.
My boss said I could have more monitors if I wanted, but so far I haven't checked to see if I can install more graphics cards on my work computer.

Up to three can be pretty easy to do, there are a lot of video cards that will drive three monitors at once. Put in a single video card and just plug all three in.

Email goes up on the left, other applications on the right. Works like a charm.
No no, that's all backwards!
(Actually the real reason email is on the right for me is that the right-side monitor is bigger. Main/left is the laptop screen, and I'd rather have, say, THIS window on the smaller screen in my open-plan office. Work email front and center makes me look busy.
