sumi, your boss sounds like a crazy person.
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.

"Closed-toe dress shoes" would be as far as they could go, I'd imagine, but who knows. I saw a story recently about a little boy who wore a skirt to school when it was hot because skirts were allowed (for girls, presumably) but shorts were not.
Or, go pantsless on the plane and put them on when you get there? that shouldn't be a problem, right?
Brilliant!!
I think she is (about this at any rate.)
Concerns we have (the support staff) is that rules won't be enforced evenly -i.e., there are professional staff who wear flip flops every day: it they don't get sent home and we do. . . grrr.
Anyway, I still don't have dress shoes that work with my brace. I asked my direct supervisor if I should get a letter from my doctor - but she said to not rush into it.
as someone who wears vibram five fingers shoes about half the week, I would not be amused.
I am against mandating footwear for employees (unless there are safety issues) but if I were in charge I'd have to outlaw those fingerered shoes. They FREAK ME OUT!
They probably can't have a dress code that is different for men v. women, generally speaking. They can have different dress codes for professionals v. staff.

One of my coworkers was wearing the yesterday and it totally took me aback.
IIRC, Keith Olberman really blew out his knee or ankle while using those fingered toed shoes.

I LOVE them. Seriously. Very comfortable. I have gotten all kinds of wild reactions to the shoes since I've been wearing them (2-3 years now).
They FREAK ME OUT!
SERIOUSLY. I am entirely against them. Sorry, folks.
However, requiring heels can't be allowed. I can't wear most heels without pain, and I'm sure there are enough people who can't wear any heels without pain for it to be a really stupid idea. They're patently suffering for fashion. It's like requiring pierced ears. It's a medical thing.
