You know, I've saved lives. Dozens. Maybe hundreds. I reattached a girl's leg. Her whole leg. She named her hamster after me. I got a hamster. He drops a box of money, he gets a town.

I also thought of you, Jesse, when I saw about Bulger.

I realize I'm just freaking out about this because the prices are so low and I'm sad about not being able to buy here....At least, not yet.

Don't be! I bought a year ago and am still occasionally freaking out about how committed I am and stuff. And what with having to find a new roommate...argh.

But did I share the news here? My sister (in Indiana) found me a roommate (in DC)! Oddly, the girl who went to senior prom with my brother is apparently a friend of my sister's, and just graduated from law school and is moving out to Seattle to work, and my sister hooked us up! I find it odd that someone my brother's age could have gone to college, gone to grad school, been in the peace corps AND gone to law school, but I'm taking my sister's word that she's an awesome girl.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I can't believe I'm looking at Steph like she's a spring chicken. But, OMG, just turning 40? Halloo.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

tempting . . . does the university still have a hiring freeze?

Don't know for sure, but my niece just got a job there.

From way back, because it pissed me off THAT MUCH. ...

Plei, your mildly drunken righteous rant was excellent, and I heart you for it.

As happy as I am with my current house, I still love looking at houses for sale. If I had the time and the money to invest, I'd be buying houses to play with.

Happy Birthday, Steph!
