You do well to flee, townspeople! I will pillage your lands and dwellings! I will burn your crops and make merry sport with your more attractive daughters! Ha ha ha! Mark my words! Ooh! Ale! I smell delicious ale!

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

My cousin is stepping onto court at Wimbledon right now...

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

tempting . . . does the university still have a hiring freeze?

Don't know for sure, but my niece just got a job there.

From way back, because it pissed me off THAT MUCH. ...

Plei, your mildly drunken righteous rant was excellent, and I heart you for it.

As happy as I am with my current house, I still love looking at houses for sale. If I had the time and the money to invest, I'd be buying houses to play with.

Happy Birthday, Steph!

We are Buffistas. This isn't our first apocalypse. -- Pix

Man, like Jesse, I totally grew up hearing about Whitey and Bill Bulger, so this is like old home week. The Globe has some old stories about Whitey's life on the run here: [link]

The man lived well.

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

people should secure a job here first, then move.

That said, I hate my current job. omg. just really stop tying my hands on doing anything, questioning everything I do, acting like any error is THE END OF THE WORLD instead of just letting me correct it, and then getting bothered when I am done with things to do.

The interview yesterday went well, I think, but I talked to much, babbled really. It is only part-time also and would still not get me benefits. I haven't sent in any new apps since last weekend, so I need to get on that.

Trust my rage

Oksy, hivemind - I'm trying to figure out how (if possible) to find a record of someone's social security contributions after they have died. I'm guessing that someone here knows how to do that, if it can be done.

And...play on the outer courts is suspended. Megan! I can't concentrate on work, I'm so excited for you. Sure, I have a lot of favourite cousins, but she's handily one of them. I've known her since she was a diapered drunk.

Unrelatedly, OMG, my head really hurts.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

The glorious, messy, mobbed up story of Boston's Winter Hill Gang.

The artist Liz McGrath's band, Miss Derringer, did an album inspired by Winter Hill.
