If I bought a house here, I'd have to deal with snow removal. I love not having to worry about that.

Leave, ita.

I went to karate and forgot my inhaler. It is HOT out and about 2/3rd of the way through class my lungs decided they weren't happy. Grrrrr. Came home to my nebulizer and now they are allowing me to breathe again.

Leave, ita!

The power is still out in about half of Wheeling (luckily, my apartment complex had power when I left this morning--I hope it's still there!), including my park district building where my pool is so no swim tonight, darnit! I just hope I can get home in a decent amount of time, since traffic lights are still out, too.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

in Bay Area terms, it's a really, really reasonable price. Just ask anyone in the Bay Area. Or, Calfornia.

This is why I live where I live, because housing prices are a lot lower way out here in the boondocks. That house is over twice what mine would fetch in the current market (sadly, not twice what I paid for it).

Man, I'm bored. Even this filing isn't enough to keep me busy. And one of the Big Bosses is wandering the office today: I nearly got caught on this site. Yikes.

A dress should be tight enough to show you're a woman but loose enough to flee from zombies. — Ginger

So, can I grown spinach in my sun room in a window box?

I use a ton of it, and it seems like it's easy to grow, but it doesn't like too much sun or hear. My sun room isn't AC'd, but it's cooler than outdoors, gets about 3 hours of direct sunlight in the afternoon, and nice indirect sun most of the day.

Anyone had success or failure growing spinach?

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

and being able to paint my walls any color I like.

We paint our walls non-neutral colors and we rent. But I've been in this apartment for 25 years.

java, yeah Emmett BARTing will definitely cut down on some of the commuting, but BART tix are so high now that it's not actually a great deal. Actually, I need to investigate discounted prices for teens and such. I know I need his birth cert to get a Clipper card for him and on top of that there's some kind of BART discount for students. But he's full price for Muni now. The bottom line is what I gain in time I'm losing in money.

Then again, I'm losing my car pool lane privileges in July so it's probably a wash.

I love that NYTimes weekly feature that shows what $X will buy you housing wise in 3 different markets. Fascinating!

Me too! And sadly, I was thinking "oh that's not a bad price!" when I saw the listing for java's neighbor! Though mostly because I know how cute her house is and how nice the deck and backyard are!!

I'm excited for Java to own that Meyer lemon tree.

YES.

Also, my neighbor just mentioned that he has a gigantic olive tree dropping thousands of olives and do I want any?
