Javachik, you're buying? Well, now is definitely the time. And I love having my own yard, and being able to paint my walls any color I like.

But yeah, it's a horrific hassle to do it.

Tell me in the end it will be worth it. Please?

You know home ownership is a hassle and is expensive sometimes but I am truly glad I bought my house. I love that it is mine (ours now). Being mine meant I could (pay someone to) do this to it, for example:

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

ARGH. My counterpart is giving notice tomorrow. We still have no boss. I might die. There is no way I can deal with her workload -- not that I'm so busy (although I should be), but it's a whole different set of people and relationships and bullshit, and I just caaaaan't.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

Ah Jesse, pobrecita. Sounds a bit nightmarish.

Our wings are not tired.

Consuela, I am trying to buy directly from landlady as she'd like to sell before Feb of next year to avoid capital gains taxes. She's being awesome and I think I may be able to swing this.

And, Lisa, SO COOL.

Boo being kicked out of office! Does that mean a cube, lisa??

Jesse, that sounds like a lot of work coming your way--are they trying to hire a new boss, or is it floundering?

java, it's a bit of a pain (especially when, say, the bank takes your downpayment out TWICE), but hopefully not too much of one!!

A dress should be tight enough to show you're a woman but loose enough to flee from zombies. — Ginger

javachik, I have a couple of friends who are doing the same with a neighbor's house (they're renting) and it's better, but still a PITA.

I'm glad Dan already had a house, or else I am sure I would be renting FOREVER.

Also...OMFG, every time I bend over or twitch, there is a river flowing from my nose. This is unacceptable.

EW EW EW.

DO. NOT. WANT.

It sounds like they are close to hiring the new boss, and counterpart is thinking about giving a lot of notice, so it should be OK, but still.

ARGH! As I suspected might happen, I'm getting kicked out of my office.

Argh!!!

Go, Java! That's exciting.
