Jesse, that sounds like a lot of work coming your way--are they trying to hire a new boss, or is it floundering?

java, it's a bit of a pain (especially when, say, the bank takes your downpayment out TWICE), but hopefully not too much of one!!

javachik, I have a couple of friends who are doing the same with a neighbor's house (they're renting) and it's better, but still a PITA.

I'm glad Dan already had a house, or else I am sure I would be renting FOREVER.

yeah, SUCK! I understand, I'm not a project manager any more and I don't have people reporting to me now and our space is limited and they are trying to consolidate groups but meh. Right now the person I report to is in a cube so that's a little weird though.

I'm trying not to cry but it sucks. Even though I know it's not a reflection on my work or anything.

Java, I find owning a home less stressful than the housing co-operative I was living in.

I totally want to run away and join the circus. Meanwhile everyone I know (well, THREE people) are going to Paris. I want to go to Paris!!

javachik, I think home ownership is all about the long haul--in the long run, does it lighten or increase the financial burden? For us, it's been a significant decrease, so that's good, but owning does have it's headaches.

We still have no boss.

I have too many bosses right now. I just got off yet another call with my boss's (new) boss who is coming direct to me to discuss a pretty comprehensive restructuring that she's thinking through. My actual boss has already said to me confidentially that she's not sure she has or wants a place in the new organization. Awkward.

I love owning a house, but now that mr. flea's nearest job prospect is a 10-hour drive from here, it has become a burden. Would we sell? What's the market like; can we get enough to not lose on the deal (the market here is actually less bad than many places.) What do we have to spruce up if we wanted to sell? Or should we rent it out - and how many ridiculous hassles would that be?

In short, moving sucks.

My plan is to act like I don't care.
