And now my boy's in love. All hearts and flowers. But, doesn't it freak you out that she used to change your diapers? I mean, when you think about it, the first woman you boned is the closest thing you've ever had to a mother. Doing your mom and trying to kill your dad. Hm. There should be a play.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Shirl, my sister's gf, sent me a Father's Day card. This is what she wrote:

The boys are off fishing so they can't sign your card but they appreciate being fathered especially since it means that you may spend eternity in hell.

Awww....

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Aw, tommy, they appreciate you!

My longest commute was hour-and-a-half, each way. Shortest was 15 minutes each way. I hated commuting. Thankfully I never had to use public transport. Me + annoying humans + stress + no escape = nervous breakdown +/- eviscerations. I am grateful to whatever gods sometimes smile and pet me that my commute these days is down the stairs and past the kitchen.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Has Steph left for the shore already? I missed calling my mother to wish her a happy birthday, and I blame her. A cold, emoticonless email will have to do.

Happy birthday, Steph!

Because books.

Thankfully I never had to use public transport.

I always thought I would prefer driving, since I could smoke and crank tunes, but in NJ to NY traffic, I think that's when I would have killed someone (or possibly many). I got so much reading and napping done on the train.

When traffic is bad, my commute is 5 minutes. If I decide to walk instead, it's 15 minutes.

Oh, holy crap! I didn't even think of it this year! My mom turned 65 today and you would think it's the end of the frigging world. She does not like the aging process. So we all agreed to minimally acknowledge her birthday (but not age) this year and move on. (Except for my brother, who is pissed -- rightly so -- that she told him he was fat. He wanted to send her a birthday card that says "Happy 70th Birthday, Skeletor!" I'm pretty sure he did not.)

Happy birthday, Steph!

Awwww, thanks! (And we leave Friday morning for the beach.)
