They're probably coughing germs all over your air space, Dana.
Matilda's school had a furlough day, so I took her on her first picnic!
We parked under a...flowering dogwood tree (I think?) in GG Park and ate strawberries and split a sandwich, and nibbled on goldfish. Then we read a new Wonder Woman comic and a picture book about a pony. Then we kicked the soccer ball around. Then we plopped on the blanket and practiced writing names in her journal, and then we drew lots of pictures.
Sighted on this picnic: a hummingbird!, a robin, sassy grey squirrels, fat bumblebees, monarch butterflies.
After several hours of hanging out and drawing pictures we stopped at Park Chow on the way home to get something to drink. She had a root beer float and I had their fresh squeezed orange ginger cooler.
A day well spent.
Oh! and we went to the new consignment store and she selected a fancy knit ponch with hearts and flowers on it. She is now Poncho Girl. And we scored a nice Hannah Anderson top and skirt outfit.
Sadly, however, Matilda had her first experience of thrifting and finding The Perfect Thing That Doesn't Quite Fit. In this case a pair of pink cowgirl boots in the size she just recently outgrew.
I would like to go on a picnic! Stupid winter.

Oh, poor girl. But the rest of the day sounds wonderful.
MCR CONCERT TONIGHT! Cass and I are each other's designated adults. Someone be ready to post bail or provide an alibi, 'kay?
You were with me the whole time. In Arizona.
"On the moon. With Steve." /Izzard
I knew I could count on you people.

You know we've been ready to do that this whole week, right?

Fair point. But we've been pretty low-key, just hanging out at Cass' and watching silly TV. And losing hours at a time to tumblrs dedicated to MCR.

An important life skill, I feel.
I had a friend who claimed the most important phrase to know was "Don't shoot. I'm an American." Of course, that was a number of years ago. Probably now it should be, "Don't shoot. I'm a Canadian. Eh."
