"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

he asked me to buy the video so his friend Kaleb could show it to his church.

You should totally do that!

And substitute this video.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

So I did remember to come to work early! And spent an hour and a half sitting in the lobby greeting people, and now feel like I've pretty much done enough for today. Oops.

ION, I was glad to hear about this controversy at the Catholic church I walk by every day -- the archdiocese made them cancel a planned service that might have looked like it was for Gay Pride this weekend (it was totally for Gay Pride!): [link] So not only are they a welcoming congregation, it must be working for them, because they have just done a shitload of work on the church facade, and it looks GREAT.

See? I gave everybody here an opportunity to tell me what a bad person I am and nobody did, because I fuckin' rule.

Jesse, that sounds incredible. So heartening to read about a pastor standing up and forcefully insisting on making a loving, welcoming place for everyone.

I am more than slightly bouncy today about news from my own parish, which is that we've been invited to join another deeply pro-QUILTBAG parish in marching in SF's Pride Parade.

Lots of interview~ma vibes to MM.

And yay Typo! I'm so glad to hear that cancer has been well and thoroughly fucked, and I sincerely hope the door does hit it in the ass on its way out.

Right?? It made me feel better about the weeks of walking in the street that they have subjected me to...

Yay!!

"I keep to a strict diet of ill-advised enthusiasm and heartfelt regret." Leigh Bardugo

Jesse, adding 200 parishoners is pretty big, I'd imagine.

I do not want today. Or tomorrow. Or friday.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

That's great, JZ.

Friends don't let friends read "Atlas Shrugged"

I'm so happy with my church (yes, it likes carrots) - they're having same sex wedding services (I met one of the happy grooms yesterday) and the bishop was in the pride parade (an annual occurrence).
