Oh, der. I was going to start making the dinner I agreed to bring my family tomorrow, but it occurs to me that a cold salad is not actually weather-appropriate now. Feh. But it's so much easier to make it and bring it, as opposed to cooking over there! What to do, what to do.

If you are eating indoors, nothing wrong with a cold salad as the main dish. Maybe they could make a side-dish soup or something for something hot. Alternatively can the same ingredients you were going to use for the salad be used to make a soup or casserole you can cook ahead and reheat?
Now I remember why I stopped using this computer and bought a new one -- this one refuses to acknowledge that it has a battery, and so it only works when it's plugged in. The Apple support people say to bring the other one to an Apple Store, so I'm thinking I might visit my parents early next week, since there are several Apple Stores near them.
Why wouldn't a cold salad be appropriate in summer, Jesse?
Awesome Beep Me news, Typo!
I don't know what it's like in Boston, but I just turned my heat on.

It's 60 and rainy.
The original plan was a Thai-ish chicken pasta salad, which can be served warm, but I'd need to make it there. I think I'll just do a red sauce or something for pasta.
Excellent news, Typo!
It's weird here -- it cooled off, but not completely, and it's still humid, so it's semi-warm and vaguely damp.
