Thrive to spite them

It was freaky and while I don't know if he knew my name or not (or if it was the same man the police caught) the thing that stood out about the news article was the man was asking for these women and girls by name. And at the time the police weren't sure how he knew their names because he was calling from out of state.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

OK, to avoid any potential problems, I ate the whole damn thing.

This will be funny for the hockey and baseball types among us: A facebook friend of mine just posted an anti-Canucks limerick that refers to the Yankees! Because we apparently cannot let anyone forget.

Did we suddenly get severely post-racial? Why is an article telling me we think of him as white?

I remember seeing something about that, and being like "Really? Who the hell thinks that??" I mean, they had a white guy play his grandfather, but...dude has green eyes. Clearly he's got something from someone. But...

Morena Baccarin I admit, I would've thought white, but wouldn't be shocked if you said something else. Wikipedia says she's Brazilian. OK.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

She's not?

White? Not entirely, no.

Rashida Jones "we" do, though, I think.

Seriously? What's wrong with you?

dude has green eyes.

So does he. That's not it. He's just not white.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I don't think she's white, but she generally plays characters who date white guys, and her race is not commented upon. I think that means people think of her as white.

Because books.

Rashida Jones "we" do, though, I think.

I didn't know she wasn't until I heard she was Quincy Jones's daughter.

...I would be a little surprised to hear that a girl named "Rashida" was whitebread. But I didn't have an opinion on the actress.

So does he. That's not it. He's just not white.

Oh, I'm not saying that means he's white! Just that I was neither startled to see a white guy playing his grandfather, nor would I be startled to see a black woman play his mother. (or for that matter, his father, depending on how his grandma was!)

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Mostly I reheat them and eat the guts. The tortillas rarely survive in edible form.

Unwrap, heat the guts, and then toss the tortilla in (or rewrap) for the last 15 seconds or so.
