Wash: Little River just gets more colorful by the moment. What'll she do next? Zoe: Either blow us all up or rub soup in our hair. It's a toss-up. Wash: I hope she does the soup thing. It's always a hoot, and we don't all die from it.

information libertarian

There are some public library kids' sections that don't allow adults without children. In our town's library, I can't see why anyone would want to - it's all tiny furniture and the computers are restricted to only some educational games - but the article I read about it showed a really beautiful children's area and adults wanted to sit and read there.

I did a 10-day tour of Turkey with a group of archaeologists and my friend Deb found coins on 2 different sites (nothing special, just bronze Byzantine stuff, but still! She had the eye.) But in some areas metal detectorists are pretty hazardous for archaeological sites.

Cats to become a rabbit should gather immediately now here

But, what if I wanted a children's book?

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

My neck and shoulder area is bugging me, and I have a feeling the neck stretching exercises my doctor gave me won't help much.

Back tattoos of the mother is that you are absolutely right - Ame

Well bless. I guess I'm more lactose intolerant than I realized. For some reason I had a craving for cereal this afternoon, so I snitched some of CJ's and poured on the milk (2%). My tummy has not been happy since.

I am ok with cheese and yogurt, but I will rarely go for a bowl of ice cream or a glass of milk. Weird.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

Cheese and yogurt have cultures that make them much easier to digest if you are lactose intolerant than straight milk or something like ice cream.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

OMG and holy shit, I just saw an ad for AshleyMadison.com with a take-off on the Interjection song from Schoolhouse Rock. I am scarred.

The status is NOT quo.

It makes me really sad to think, by that logic, that only people who are lucky enough to have children are allowed to be around them.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

That's obviously a huge overstatement of the issue at hand.

The status is NOT quo.

It is. But it's hard not to feel that way. (I'm not claiming to be logical about this. It just makes me sad that we've moved so far from the "it takes a village" concept.)

ETA: Java mostly said what I was feeling:

I think that someone who's acting creepy and hanging around a playground eyeing the kids should be dealt with on a case by case basis and that these flat, unilateral ways of dealing with an issue just cause more problems.

Yeah, strangers can be creepy but study after study shows that kids are far more likely to be molested or harmed by someone either in their own family or close to the family. So I sort of feel like WTF about ticketing people eating donuts on a park bench.
