Can I get an onerous task gold star? I just sorted and filed (and shredded) paperwork about various financial matters, in some cases dating back to 2006. My back hurts.
I SO do not want to go to work tomorrow. This is the problem with vacations.
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.

Timelies all!
Back from the second day of the folk festival. Nice day, nice weather.
I went to the farmer's market this morning. Fresh veggies won't show up for another few weeks, but there are some other great vendors I like to support.
As I was walking around I heard a couple behind me pondering the lack of fruits and veggies at a farmer's market. I spoke with them and they had recently moved from California. One of the few times I didn't feel like a Colorado newbie. While we won't get fresh stuff for a bit, our market is open through November.
Flea - I haven't been in my office since my vacation and I need to go tomorrow. Really don't want to.
The farmers markets here are still mostly leafy greens. Some asparagus, and hothouse tomatoes, and this week I got garlic scapes, but it's mostly greens and will be for another few weeks, probably.
Whereas in GA I have zucchini and beans and tomatoes in my own yard already. On the other hand, it is 96 degrees. Wanna trade?
We went out and bought a fan for our back porch and replacements for our yard lights (which are now just $1.99 bulbcovers and are kinda fugly)--birthday present of the DH. While at the Lamps Plus Outlet store, we spied a set of metal trunks. They were slightly scratched and so we got them for $130 for the pair, plus J had them throw in a lifetime replacement for our lamps. Sweet! [link] They are next to our black club chair in the bow window and look great, not to mention being a good vantage point for the cats to keep an eye on the neighborhood.
It is 89 here...hot enough. I'm sure my CSA box will be full of leafy stuff for a while. Our pick-ups start in two weeks!
The stuff at the farmers' market was enough for me to put together a pretty good dinner with some pantry staples -- pasta with spinach, tomatoes, garlic scapes, and canellini beans. Still in the process of cooking it, but I think I'll throw in a bit of white wine, and maybe some oregano.
I didn't make it to the market Saturday, but they start Wednesday markets in June, so Imma go on Wednesday
I bought a tomato plant, and will buy a couple more, but I need tomatoes now. I also want to see if they have berries yet. I think I'll have to wait a couple of weeks for peaches.
I bought a mint plant, and I think I'll pick up a parsley plant. I really have to focus on container gardening this year. Which is still 1000X more than I did last year.
Our CSA has totally been asparagus, leafy greens, and herbs. Next week we get strawberries, though.
