Oh honey, the mentally unwell people have been in the fanbase since Game Changers was Stucky fanfiction on the internet. The calls have been coming from inside the house the whole time!

Congrats, Jon and FAQWife!

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Watching Property Virgins (I really have a problem), and this woman is a single mother about to finish her YEAR of maternity leave?? Seriously, Canada?!?!

Cat carrier lined with puppypads, check. Mister Kitty's to-go bag ready sans insulin, check. Alarm (like I need it) set for 6, check.

MK's got a blood curve appt tomorrow. I think it is going to tell me he's regulated again, and thankfully has gained back some lost weight. He's definitely looking better.

Now tell me why, in this heat, Loki is sleeping in the likeliest hottest place (on top of the micro in the hotbox, I mean kitchen,) Dev is in the foam cube, and MK down on the futon, when the coolest part of the house is the bed upstairs. And they're all hot-cat pancaked.

Lot of compliments on my outfit today. Guess they aren't used to seeing me in skirts/dresses. But this hot, I'm choosing ventilation. Even at work. They are powercycling and shutting down ac at the behest of the power companies...

Seriously, Canada?!?!

What?

It's a little more complicated than that, and I don't understand all the details. The feds only pay 55% of income if eligible. (Mat leave benefits are actually receiving Employment Insurance benefits.) Usually, a full time employee's mat leave is topped up by her employer for a portion of the year. I think my employer tops up to 100% for 35 weeks, but the other 17 are at 55%, so some people can't afford to take the full year. I do know one person who works for a very progressive employer where mat leave is topped up for the whole year.

We get 12 weeks, through my job, and count it lucky! That woman had been living with her parents, so 55% of salary would probably be fine.

A turkey in every toilet -- only in America!

Seriously, Canada?!?!

Believe you me, there are times when (Canadian-born) FAQWife bemoans our not living there. Especially, for obvious reasons, recently.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

FAQWife has a point.
