Time Warner apparently has something in their tech support script to ask me if I want to consider bundling my phone services with internet and cable.
This is Comcast. I used to get cold calls from Comcast asking if I wanted to switch my phone service to them. I told them: "I am not particularly happy with your cable service, so why would I want to switch my telephone service TO you."
The rep said "that is a good point. thank you for your time."
Never got another call from them.
Ha! Oh, I do! That totally counts.
It's really a question of, if one removes the heart and soul from one person and puts them in another body leaving a shambling empty husk behind, which person keeps the name?
Bwah! Such an apt comparison! And yeah, that was the one and only time I cheered for the Avs.
So! You guys remember a couple of years ago where I worked up my social nerve to go meet a bunch of strangers who were doing a birdwalk with the Audubon society, and then I got there and nobody was there and I cried? Well it took all this time, but this morning there was another event and I tried again. This time the goof was that I didn't know it was a charged event and of course I didn't have cash on me, so I was about to go to the bank machine when I remembered there was a bunch of change in my car. So I totally paid in, like, quarters. But I went!
And it was totally awesome, and informative, and I identified a bird in the presentation because they mostly know the ponderosa pine birds and I mostly know the pinon juniper birds. There was a talk on identification, on backyard habitats, and on optics. It was so great! And then there was a walk afterwards.
Whereupon I got a whopper of a nosebleed and didn't get to go. But thank goodness it happened standing in the parking lot next to my car with box of kleenex and not, say, in the middle of the forest with a bunch of strangers! So I'm back home and lying down, but I consider it a successful outing. They've got a bunch of events, so I'm happy to see them doing so much stuff.
Yay for it working out, Liese! (Well, except for the nosebleed, eek!)
It's noon, now. I first woke up at 8:30. And then at 9:30 (after an awful nightmare). So far I have...eaten breakfast, read the internet, and talked to my family on the phone. I really should clean my house, and I have late night plans, but no other daytime plans, and can't decide what to do!
Go Liese! (also, yikes.)
I did so good! Walked to the movies (Bridesmaids -- liked it, wanted to tell everyone else in the theater that I swear I do have friends), walked through the Public Gardens a little, went to Filene's Basement and Marshall's (two cute dresses, $25 each!), to the supermarket, and now home. I should really go for a walk by the river, because today is the perfect weather day (for the year), but now I feel lazy.
4 hours of yardwork. The yard is mowed, weedeated, and a bunch of weeds were pulled. I want to clear out one full flowerbed and get it tilled up with compost and then mulch down.
I have just plowed through my resources. Not a spoon left for love or money. The key was to put the uncomfortable stuff (involving changing rooms) up front, and leave the absolutely required until last.
Of all the stores I stopped in, I spent the most in the tea store. I have no idea how that happened. Well, aside from the multiple sorts of tea and the tea containers.
I also have a new kind of expensive bra. I tried on cheaper bras, but I don't want my boobs to look like that! Why do I have to have these breasts?
Huh. They did rob me, at the tea store. I just realised he sold me a $3 cup of tea that I really didn't need to have. Why am I so easy?
